01 / The responsibility

What this room means

The Crown is Castle’s human-authority layer. It separates what Castle can prepare and do from what only the King may authorise, reducing trivial work reaching him and improving the quality of decisions that genuinely require human judgement.

In the real system

This is the boundary between prepared work and specific human authority. Castle gathers evidence and prepares exact actions; the King authorises within an explicit scope. Approval is tied to that prepared action, not a vague permanent permission.

02 / At the gates

Work entering. Work leaving.

The King authorises prepared actions. The King does not grant vague permanent permission by accident.

CROWN-01 / CANONICAL

King Oliver

Oliver Watson Todd

Castle’s ultimate human authority. Routine observation, research, preparation and bounded execution should be absorbed by Castle, leaving the King matters of judgement, policy, commercial authority, exceptional risk and ownership.

Castle action

Sets Castle-level priorities, approves specific gated actions, changes policy and authorises exceptional risk.

In the system

The human decision and ownership boundary: prepared work becomes authorised only within the exact scope of the King’s decision.

Decision standard

Establish what happened, Castle’s recommendation, the evidence and material risks, the cost of doing nothing, exactly what is being authorised, and the rollback or recovery path.

Authority boundary

May authorise a prepared action; may not make false evidence true or erase history by command. A decision must not become vague permanent permission.

CROWN-02 / CANONICAL

Royal Secretary

The human-decision interface between complex Castle state and the King. Assembles concise briefs with evidence, recommendations, risks, alternatives, requested authority, the exact action, recovery options and material changes.

Castle action

Carries decision packets into the King’s chamber and records the King’s commands.

In the system

Decision compression, presentation and command routing.

Canonical question

“What does the King actually need to know and decide?”

Authority boundary

May prepare and route decisions, but may not invent or broaden approval, hide material risk, or turn a recommendation into a King command.

CROWN-03Canonical portrait to be added

CROWN-03 / CANONICAL

Keeper of the King’s Seal

Represents exact approval state: the approved action or artefact, target, scope, time, approving authority, consumption state and material changes requiring fresh approval.

Castle action

Controls the royal seal binding a human decision to a specific prepared action; validates its applicability, rejects stale or mismatched approval and records consumption.

In the system

Approval-token discipline and approval-state integrity.

Canonical question

“Is this exact action covered by a valid unconsumed approval?”

Authority boundary

APPROVAL BELONGS TO A SPECIFIC PREPARED ACTION. If the candidate materially changes, old approval may become insufficient.

May not grant approval independently, infer it from silence, or turn one approval into permission for another action.
